Central High School’s journalism class began working together in the fall of 2016 to create the first school newspaper in many years. The Falconer is created by students for students. The aim of the paper is to produce accurate, high quality news, as well as deliver fair coverage on the issues that matter most to Central High School students. Student staff members have covered a variety of high school and local events, opinion pieces, reviews on movies and television shows, and many more topics that range from gun control to Stranger Things.
Mackenzie Oliff and Skylar Grear work on articles for The Falconer.
Jordan Hall, Stephen French, and Mr. McCarthy evaluate print edition of the paper.
The website (Thefalconer.org) was created and opened to the public at the beginning of October and is continuously updated to provide the most current coverage. The first print edition was released the second week of November with the help of The Free Press and has received many positive comments from faculty members and students.
