Who We Are

Located in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley along the I-81 corridor, Shenandoah County Public Schools has over 1,000 teaching and support staff who serve more than 5,600 students (PK-12) in ten schools: three elementary, three middle, three high, and one career and technical school.

Shenandoah County Public Schools also hosts the Massanutten Regional Governor’s School, which serves students from Shenandoah, Page, and Rockingham Counties and the City of Harrisonburg.

    SCPS RFP Central High School Press Box Construction

    Shenandoah County Public Schools (SCPS) is seeking bids from qualified vendors to provide construction services for the demolition, removal, and construction of a new two-story press box at Central High School, located in Woodstock, Virginia. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the site on April 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM local time.

    Edulog Parent Portal App Info for Bus Riders

    The Edulog Parent Portal app is free to parents, caregivers, and students. It will show you what time the bus will be at your stop and the current GPS location of the bus.     School Safety Alert Messaging

    Shenandoah County Public Schools takes the safety of our students and staff very seriously. In the event of an incident involving school safety, there are protocols in place to protect everyone on our campuses.     Cell Phone Free Education

    Following approval of a new policy by the Shenandoah County School Board, SCPS schools began instituting a bell-to-bell policy that requires all students to put away their cell phones and personal electronic communication devices, including airpods and smart watches, for the entirety of the school day. First Graders Take Part In Andy King Community AG Day

First grade students from across Shenandoah County learned how to milk cow, got an up close look at different livestock, climbed into the driver seat of large farm equipment, got to watch a field drone in action, and more as part of Andy King Community AG Day!

Hosted at ATL Farms in New Market, the day was in honor of Andy King, a resident of Shenandoah County who served in the U.S. Army and was a huge supporter of the agriculture industry. Organized by Amy King and with the help of partnerships with the Shenandoah County Farm Bureau and various local businesses, students got the chance to experience agriculture and see its impact firsthand on their daily lives.

These student leaders explained what it means to be a RAMbassador, asked thought-provoking questions of School Board Chair Larry Vance and Board Members Mike Rickard and Mike Scheibe, and showed them around the Sandy Hook campus.

Stonewall Jackson High School students in Ms. Dawson's Oceanography class were treated to a unique lesson from J. Michael Williamson, a 1964 SJHS graduate and longtime marine biologist. Professor Williamson walked students through the anatomy of a sea star before helping them dissect and explore the intricacies of the creatures.
