Safety & Security in SCPS
The school violence in Parkland, Florida has caused uneasiness and concern about local school safety and security. Based on questions and comments that both Sheriff Carter and I have received, it appears that not everyone is familiar with our practices and procedures. The Shenandoah County Public Schools and Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office continue to work hand-in-hand to implement all of our various safety procedures and protocols. The attached press release provides more specific detail about these efforts. Thank you for your attention and please remain assured that our schools remain safe and secure and we continue to review, refine, and revise our practices on an ongoing basis.
Mark Johnston, Superintendent
